ICUMSA Sugar: Grades, Packaging & Documents for Bulk Buyers
· 2xy3w
ICUMSA classifications help buyers describe sugar color and refineability requirements. Commercial offers should still define measurable specifications, packing and origin rather than rely on a grade name alone.
Popular grade designations
ICUMSA 45, ICUMSA 150 and higher-color raw sugar classifications are used in different applications. Buyers should request the product’s current specification sheet, including polarization, color, moisture, ash and other agreed characteristics.
Packaging and shipment
Confirm whether the required packing is 25 kg, 50 kg, bulk bags or another format. For bulk orders, the named port, shipment quantity, container loading or vessel arrangement and inspection responsibilities should appear clearly in the offer.
Quality and origin documents
Depending on destination and contractual terms, request the applicable certificate of origin, laboratory analysis, inspection report and any sanitary or customs documents. Verify that each document is linked to the actual product and producer.
Prepare an effective RFQ
Include your preferred sugar grade, quantity, packaging, destination and desired delivery period. Pricing should be confirmed through a written quotation, not assumed from historical market figures.
